Account Deletion
You can request deletion of your Ekav account and its data in the app or, if you cannot access it, by email. See our Privacy Policy for the full retention details.
Request deletion in the app
- Open Ekav and go to Profile.
- Open Settings.
- Select Delete account and confirm the request.
The request is authenticated with your signed-in account and recorded immediately. Push notifications stop right away and you are signed out.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, email founder@ekav.app from the same email address used for Ekav sign-in. State that you want your account deleted. We will verify identity before processing.
Timing and cancellation
- Deletion processing does not start until 48 hours after the request is created.
- The app does not currently have a cancel button. To ask us to cancel, email founder@ekav.app from your sign-in address within those 48 hours; a request cannot be cancelled once processing has begun.
- After that window, scheduled deletion processing begins and retries transient failures.
- We target completion within 30 days of the original request date.
What is deleted
- Your sign-in identity at our authentication provider.
- Profile fields (name, gender, birth month and year), your profile photo, and your personalization profile.
- Swipes, search history, saved cart and wishlist items, push tokens and notification records.
- Friend links, blocks, invite links, Bag membership and Bag reactions.
- Cached data, and the analytics data linked to your account, which we ask our analytics provider to delete.
What is kept
- A deleted-account identifier with no profile data, so that shared records stay valid for other users. Products you added to a shared Bag and buy-together records may remain linked to it.
- Buy-click records, with the link to your account removed.
- Policy-acceptance, deletion, moderation, and security audit records, for 24 months after account closure or case resolution, and longer only where a documented legal hold, active dispute or security investigation, or binding law requires it.
- Copies in provider backups and infrastructure logs, until those cycle out under the provider’s settings. We do not state an exact period for them here.
Copies of photos used for photo search are stored under random names that are not linked to an account, so they are not covered by account deletion. See the Privacy Policy, section 4.
